A year-long fish screen construction project for a California canal required a bypass of 56,000 gpm in order to supply more than 1 million county residents with their water.
Five PowerPrime pumps were chosen to provide the bypass. The electric driven 16-inch DV400c pumps transferred water from floating suction lines and carried it 2,000 feet away, bypassing the construction area.
The DV400c pumps were set up with remote operation; the county controlled the entire bypass from their main water department control room with PLC (Programmable Logic Controllers) and SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) interfaces.
