Case Study: Creosote Filtration

When a Mississippi telephone factory closed in the 1940’s, it left behind a pool of creosote that spent years leaching into the ground and a nearby creek.

In April 2011, contractors set up a multi-phase temporary bypass, polymer injection and media filtration system to remediate the creosote contaminated creek and soil beneath.

With average flows of 7,000gpm, the creek water was removed from a 2,400 foot section of the creek bed and pushed through the filtration system by two Power Prime DV-200c pumps.
