A major electricity producer in Toronto needed to handle excessive amounts of contaminated water following a four-alarm fire at one of their transformer stations.
As a result of the effort to extinguish the fire, oil, fire foam and other low-level PCBs were captured onsite in holding ponds and the internal storm sewer system.
These contaminants threatened the city’s wastewater treatment system and needed to be filtered before they seeped in.
PowerPrime’s 4-inch DV100c diesel self-priming pump was more than adequate to move the water to on-site holding tanks and safely store it for filtration.
